19/06/2017ARDIDEN 3G OBTAINS EASA TYPE CERTIFICATION

Safran Helicopter Engines has received EASA engine type certification for its Ardiden 3G engine, which powers Russian Helicopters’ Ka-62. The helicopter made its official maiden flight on 25 May 2017. Since its first ground test, the Ardiden 3 maturation and certification campaign has accumulated more than 8500 hours of test.

Bell Helicopter, a Textron Inc. (NYSE: TXT) company and Safran (Euronext Paris : SAF), celebrate today the first delivery of the Bell 505 Jet Ranger X. The aircraft was delivered to private operator Scott Urschel, who is based in Chandler, Arizona, and owner of Pylon Aviation.

As part of its “Factory of the future” strategy, Safran Helicopter Engines has started its first automated production line dedicated to turbine blade manufacturing. The event at its Bordes plant was celebrated in the presence of Alain Rousset, President of the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Region.

The Indian Defence Minister, Mr. Manohar Parrikar inaugurated Helicopter Engines MRO Pvt. Limited (HE-MRO), a Joint Venture of Safran and Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd. (HAL), yesterday in Goa, southwest India. This Joint Venture will support helicopter engines operated by national and international operators from a 1,000 sqm office and a 3,800 sqm shop facility.

Safran congratulates Airbus Helicopters on the 20th anniversary of the entry-into-service of its H135 light twin. The first EC135, powered by Safran engines, was delivered in 1996.
