AIR SERVICE BASEL CELEBRATES SUCCESSFUL WEEK DURING ART BASEL 2017

Air Service Basel welcomed guests from all over the world to attend the Art Basel exhibition, which took place in Basel from 13th-18th June 2017. Just a 10-minute drive from the FBO, the annual exhibition features more than 4,000 artists from 34 countries, showcasing modern and contemporary works, in over 291 leading international galleries.

Often described as the “Olympics of the Art World’ with over 60,000 visitors, it’s no surprise that there’s a surge in air traffic to the Swiss cultural capital over the course of the Art Basel week. Air Service Basel’s VIP handling services with direct ramp access, limousine transfers and pilot and crew facilities, make it a perfect destination for customers who want to travel discreetly and at their own convenience.

This year the company successfully supported over 750 customers in an extensive range of private and business aircraft, including 6 arrivals from as far as China.

FBO manager, Sandrine Schmidlin, dedicates the success of the week to team-work, organization and customer-focus. “Art Basel is one of the busiest times of the year and even the CEO comes down on the tarmac to lend a hand sometimes. That’s one of our strength’s as a small FBO, we really take pride in giving every one of our guests a perfect experience and every member of the ASB team is involved in that.’

Ms. Schmidlin continues, “I’m incredibly proud of the team for their hard work this year and I’m also grateful to our partners and the authorities involved at the EuroAirport. Their support is highly appreciated and the activities in the week would not be so successful without their collaboration.”
